If you’re thinking about doing the Mardi Himal trek, ask for Sitaram Karki, Genuinely one of the kindest people I’ve met.

From the first day he made me feel comfortable and looked after. He somehow knew exactly when I needed a break, a laugh. He was so patient, never rushed me, and constantly made sure I was okay, especially with the altitude and all the endless stairs (I really struggled on them).

What really stood out though was how much he cared. It never felt like he was just doing his job. He was always looking out for me, making sure I had enough water, checking how I was feeling, pointing out mountains, teaching me about Nepal, and making the whole experience so much more meaningful. We had so many good conversations and plenty of laughs along the way.

He’s incredibly knowledgeable, calm, reliable and just an all-round genuinely good person. By the end of the trek it honestly felt like I was hiking with a friend rather than a guide.

The trek itself was one of the best experiences of my life, and a huge part of that was because of Sitaram. I couldn’t recommend him more highly. Thank you for making my first trek in Nepal such an unforgettable experience. I hope our paths cross again one day.
